The Warren County Republican Party held a conference last week and while there were plenty of discussions surrounding campaigns and policy, there was one order of business that had to be taken care of first.
That was to recognize longtime Warrenton resident, and cornerstone of this community, Alouise Marschel, with a lifetime achievement award for her dedication to Warren County and her volunteer efforts over the years.
The recognition came along with a certificate of recognition from the State Senate, courtesy of District 26 State Senator Ben Brown. That certificate was first read on the senate floor at the State Capitol in Jefferson City, and was repeated last Thursday evening at the Warrenton VFW.
The certificate listed off a number of line items counting Marschel’s impressive volunteer record and commitment to the community she calls home. She was also spoken for by Dan Hampson of the Warren County Republican Party.
“You will see Alouise at all local football games, at baseball games, and she’s always one of the first people in the stands,” Hampson said. “We will also see her at local musicals and concerts.”
Her presence at local events and her willingness to support the young people in Warren County was held up as an example of what a resident of Warren County can be. Even after the proclamation, Marschel was humble, as always saying she did not feel it was necessary.
When asked, she did say that she hoped others would follow her example.
“Just be out there to help people,” Marschel said.
