The Warrenton football team remains undefeated after a 42-14 win over St. Charles West. The Warriors started out strong and quickly put up 14 points in the first quarter.

Deadrick Forrest recorded the first touchdown after receiving a 36-yard pass from quarterback Brandon Johnson. Austin Haas added another Warrior touchdown after a 13-yard rush.

St. Charles West quickly responded and scored a touchdown off a kick-off return to end the first quarter 14-7.

Starting the second quarter, Austin White extended the lead with a 25-yard touchdown reception pass from Johnson. Haas scored his second touchdown of the night off a 10-yard rush. White showed his versatility late in the second by intercepting a pass from St. Charles West’s quarterback.

At halftime, the Warriors led 28-7.

In the third, Kadin Stroer had one interception as well after receiving a tipped pass from Forrest.

Haas had his third touchdown, which led to him breaking the school record for career rushing touchdowns.

Starting the fourth, the Warriors’ defense stood strong and denied a goal line opportunity from St. Charles West. A few minutes later, Keegan Mellegaard tallied on another Warrior interception and Warrenton finished out the game with another touchdown by Johnson off a 17-yard run.

The game ended with another Warrior win of 42-14. The Warrenton football team is now 5-0, an accomplishment they have made two years in a row. More on the story in the Oct. 3 edition.
