An Independence woman was injured in an accident that involved a Warrenton teen late Wednesday morning.
The Warrenton juvenile, 17, was traveling west on Interstate 70 in St. Charles County when he lost control of his vehicle due to the rainy conditions, according to the crash report.
The juvenile's vehicle skidded across all lanes of traffic on the interstate and was struck by the front right of 63 year-old Scott Witherell's vehicle. After the impact, the juvenile's vehicle traveled off the left side of the interstate and struck the concrete traffic barrier.
Melissa Preis, 42, also of Independence, was a passenger in Witherell's vehicle and received moderate injuries in the accident. She was transported to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital St. Charles via the St. Charles County Ambulance District.
The juvenile's vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by A1 Towing while Witherell's vehicle received moderate damage and was secured on the roadside.
