Two Warrenton residents were involved in a car accident on Highway 47 Monday afternoon.
Paul Rothermich, 67, and Stephen Doom, 39, both of Warrenton, were traveling south on Highway 47 near Concord Hill Road when the accident occurred.
According to the crash report, Rothermich slowed down to make a left turn onto a private drive when Doom attempted to pass him on the left side of the roadway.
Doom struck the rear left of Rothermich's vehicle causing damage to both vehicles.
Doom was seriously injured and transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by the Washington Area Ambulance District. Rothermich did not report any injuries.
Doom's vehicle was damaged extensively and removed from the scene by Patriots Towing. Rothermich's vehicle received moderate damage and was driven from the scene.
